Fashion design has inspired me in many ways this year, so much that I have been working on projects outside of class as well. My latest attempt is to create a blazer for some of my more professional meetings at my job. Working with a pattern that has already been designed however has turned out to be more difficult then before. The sizes aren’t quite right. So to solve this problem I am using what I have learned in my pattern drafting class to mock up a practice garment to fit to my body.

Buster is my yellow lab. He is a joy to have around the house. He’s always happy and wants to be around you. His favorite things are treats, walks and squirrels. He will never ever stop fetching until you stop throwing the ball. He smiles at you and he knows when he is in trouble. He will always try and get out of trouble with is puppy eyes that he never grew out of. Buster is a great companion to the whole family and whoever walks in the door. So I guess that doesn’t really make him a good guard dog but we love him anyways.

What inspires you:
Something that inspires me is air and wind. When the wind blows leaves around on a autumn day. The crisp air in the morning. I like to take that first breath in the morning feeling and put it into my artwork. I like to include some sort of lightness to my artwork and my clothes which is kind of the polar opposite to my style. When I design a garment I want flowy fabric and light colors especially when I design my wedding dresses. I know that fabric is everything when it comes to dresses. There are so many different styles but when you add fabric to the equation there are endless possibilities.
When choosing my colours for a fashion garment it is usually a light blue or if it is a dark colour the fabric cannot!!! Be heavy.
